What are the stages of primary liver cancer?

The treatment and outcome of primary liver cancer depends on the staging of liver cancer. The current staging mainly includes the following: Okuda staging, Italian liver cancer staging (CLIP), Barcelona staging (BCLC); JIS staging; GRETCH staging; Chinese University of Hong Kong staging (CUPI); VISUM_HCC staging; TNM staging. However, through a large amount of clinical data analysis and research, it is found that the most reasonable liver cancer staging is BCLC staging, which mainly evaluates three indicators: PST, Child-Pugh classification of liver function, and Okuda staging. Based on these three indicators, patients are evaluated comprehensively and different stages of liver cancer are derived based on their final scores: stage 0, A-D. Treatment recommendations are given based on the different stages: Stage 0-A: patients can undergo liver resection or liver transplantation to achieve radical treatment. Stage B-C: Patients can only undergo chemotherapy or clinical trials. Stage D: Patients can only undergo symptomatic treatment.
