  Liver cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in clinical practice. According to the latest statistics, there are about 600,000 new cases of liver cancer each year worldwide, ranking fifth among malignant tumors. With the development of medical science, there are numerous treatment methods for liver cancer, such as surgery, intervention, radiofrequency ablation, microwave, gamma knife, radiofrequency knife, etc., so that liver cancer, which was originally called the king of cancers, becomes less desperate. The peak of recurrence is within 2 years after surgery. It can be seen that postoperative recurrence seriously affects the long-term outcome of hepatocellular carcinoma. Then how to prevent recurrence of liver cancer? According to the causes, mechanisms of occurrence and development of liver cancer, we should pay attention to the following aspects.  First, we have to understand the causes of liver cancer formation. In China, most of the liver cancer patients are also chronic hepatitis B patients, and research shows that HBV (hepatitis B virus) has a close and specific causal relationship with liver cancer, and the correlation rate between them is as high as 80%. The relationship between alcohol consumption and liver cancer has been studied more in foreign countries. In HBV-related cirrhosis, the incidence of liver cancer is higher in those with a history of alcoholism than in those without a history of alcoholism, so patients with liver cancer must quit drinking.  Trace elements and liver cancer Trace elements have extremely important physiological and pathological significance to human beings, and their relationship with human health has been recognized by the world. Studies have shown that the excess and lack of some trace elements can induce liver tumors, which provides clues for liver cancer prevention and treatment. For example, Qidong area is a high incidence area of liver cancer and selenium-poor area, after selenium supplementation, it is initially shown that it can reduce the occurrence of liver cancer. According to the available studies, selenium, zinc, manganese and molybdenum are anti-liver cancer elements, while thorium, chromium, cadmium and nickel are to liver cancer elements. It is worth noting that excessive iron loading increases the risk of liver cancer, and this aspect is rarely reported in China and should be a cause for concern. In fact, iron is required by pathogens (bacteria, viruses, mycobacteria and protozoa), tumors and normal cells. Similarly, hepatitis B replication requires iron, and high serum ferritin facilitates the replication of hepatitis B virus. The infection of hepatitis B virus and liver cancer are closely related. In clinical practice, many patients with liver cirrhosis will have anemia due to splenomegaly and hypersplenism, and many of them will buy some iron-containing supplements to correct the anemia, which may increase the risk of liver cancer.  In conclusion, liver cancer patients can eat more food or health products rich in selenium and zinc, and minimize the intake of iron, thorium, chromium, cadmium and nickel.  V. Keep away from nitrosamines Domestic scientists have tested the content of nitrate and nitrite in soil and drinking water in areas with high incidence of liver cancer such as Qidong, and the results show that the content is much higher than that in areas with low incidence of liver cancer, and foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles, salted fish, ham and sausages contain nitrate and nitrite. Nitrate can be reduced to nitrite.  There is also a kind of bacteria called nitrate reducing bacteria in the stomach, which can also make nitrite and amine combine into nitrosamine. Nitrosamines have strong carcinogenic effects, mainly causing liver cancer, esophageal cancer, stomach cancer and colorectal cancer.  Therefore, it is better for liver cancer patients to stay away from nitrosamines, that is, to eat as few pickled products as possible. In addition, because of the instability of nitrosamines, once the food and drinking water are contaminated with nitrosamines, they will be exposed to sunlight and photolytic reaction will occur to make nitrosamines decompose and control the intake of nitrosamines.  As the research on tumor prevention and treatment progresses, the relationship between mental factors and cancer is gradually attracting people’s attention. The multi-factor analysis of liver cancer reported in clinical research reveals that the risk of liver cancer in people with mental trauma is 2.98 times higher than that in people without mental trauma. When hepatitis B virus infection and psychological trauma coexist, the risk rises to 66.8 times. Scientists believe that psychosocial factors may decrease cellular immunity through the regulation of the hypothalamic neuroendocrine system and the word count nervous system, thus increasing the chance of cancer development.
