Pediatric massage teaches you to easily deal with infant and toddler diarrhea

  Chinese medicine summarizes the physiological characteristics of children as “the internal organs are delicate, the shape is not yet full of qi; vitality is vigorous, rapid development”. “The most vulnerable organs are the lungs, spleen and kidneys, so if we parents do not pay attention to the baby’s diet or do not take precautions in time due to climate change, it is easy for the baby to suffer from pulmonary or spleen-stomach and kidney dysfunctions. The most common clinical diseases are fever, cough, diarrhea, vomiting, etc;
I think most of the above-mentioned diseases should be suffered by the majority of babies, because these diseases are common in children, so parents have basically mastered some simple methods of handling, but only infant diarrhea is a problem that most parents feel very headache, why is this? Because on the one hand, infant diarrhea is basically caused by gastrointestinal dysfunction, so it is difficult to solve the problem with injections and medication; on the other hand, anti-diarrheal and gastrointestinal function regulators are not only difficult for babies to swallow, but also difficult to work for a short time.
Diarrhea also leads to a large loss of water and electrolytes, the baby will have progressive wasting, and parents will be more anxious. In response to the above mentioned situation, I would like to teach parents a very easy and effective way to treat their babies at home, so that you can easily deal with the emergence of diarrhea in infants and young children, this method is pediatric massage.
Pediatric Tui Na is a unique system of pediatric health care and pediatric disease treatment formed and developed on the basis of traditional Chinese medicine pediatrics and Chinese medicine Tui Na. According to the physiological and pathological characteristics of children, Tui Na is applied to specific areas and acupuncture points on the body surface of children to prevent and cure diseases. Pediatric massage for infant diarrhea is very simple to learn and easy to master, so I will introduce it to you below.
As mentioned earlier, infant diarrhea is basically related to the dysfunction of the spleen and stomach, while those caused by gastrointestinal inflammation are relatively rare, and we usually don’t see many of them in the clinic. Chinese medicine acupuncture points have a two-way regulatory effect, so they can be applied regardless of whether the diarrhea is deficiency or actual, as long as the technique is correct. First, I would like to introduce you to several common acupuncture points and their accurate positioning in pediatric tuina for treating infant diarrhea: spleen earth, large intestine, foot three li, umbilicus, abdomen, seven knuckle bones and turtle tail.
Spleen earth: the ribbed surface at the end of the thumb.
Large intestine: the side of the index finger near the thumb, in a straight line from the end of the index finger to the tiger’s mouth.
Foot San Li: 3 inches below the lateral gap of the knee joint (equivalent to the distance between the baby’s four fingers together), one cross finger outside the front crest of the tibia.
Umbilicus: the area about 250px in diameter centered on the navel.
Abdomen: the abdomen, here the middle abdomen is chosen as the tui-na area. It is specifically below the baby’s navel and above the line of the two anterior superior iliac spines.
Seven bones: the baby’s spine is in the middle, the fourth lumbar spine spine to the end of the tail vertebrae into a straight line, that is, the tail vertebrae up about 250px long straight line area.
Turtle tail: the caudal vertebrae area.
The specific method of operation is as follows: first keep the room at a moderate temperature to avoid getting cold. Then prepare the massage medium (Vaseline, BB oil, prickly heat powder, etc.) and apply it to the application area during the operation to play the role of lubrication, so as not to damage the baby’s skin. When one parent is operating, it is best for the other parent to tease the baby to prevent the baby from not cooperating and affecting the effectiveness of the treatment. When performing massage treatment, fully expose the area of massage, and then operate according to the order of acupuncture points described above.
  1. Parents hold the baby and sit opposite to the operator (to help eliminate nervousness).
①Supplement the spleen and earth 100 times: flex the baby’s thumb, follow the radial edge of the thumb to push straight from the distal end to the palm root, which can play a role in strengthening the spleen and stomach and replenishing qi and blood.
(②Tonic for the large intestine 100 times: push straight from the end of the index finger to the tiger’s mouth, which is good for astringent intestines and fixing diarrhea, warming the middle and stopping diarrhea.
③ rubbing and pressing the foot three li 50 times: rubbing and pressing with the ribbed side of the thumb can play a role in strengthening the spleen and stomach, regulating the middle and qi.
2.Baby lying flat on the bed.
① rubbing the umbilicus 100 times: parents palm root placed on the baby’s umbilical area, slightly stronger, strength within the penetration, can not make the palm root and the skin between the movement and friction, to the baby’s skin flushed as degree.
② abdominal 100 times: parents of the entire palm placed on the baby’s abdomen, counterclockwise kneading, the same points as the umbilical cord.
  3.Baby lying on the bed.
① push the upper seven bones 50 times: the operator uses the thumb to scratch the side or the threaded surface of the index and middle fingers to push in a straight line from bottom to top in the seven bones area, to the extent that the baby’s skin is slightly red, which can play an anti-diarrheal effect.
② rubbing the tail of the turtle 100 times: using the end of the thumb or the end of the middle finger to rub, which is conducive to regulating the meridian of the Duoyuan and regulating the function of the large intestine.
The whole process of the above operation takes about 7-10 minutes, and the treatment is given twice a day for 3-5 days as a course of treatment.
