What are the causes of swollen lymph nodes in the groin?

Swollen inguinal lymph nodes are very common and often indicate lesions in the tissues and organs surrounding the lymph nodes, as well as systemic diseases. Common causes include: lymphadenitis, tuberculous lymphadenitis, lymphoma, syphilis, AIDS, filarial and filarial infections, gynaecological malignancies, and infections of the lower limbs or perineum.
