Can eb virus be cured?

EBV is a common human herpesvirus type 4, which can be carried for life after primary infection. EBV infection cannot be cleared from the host and is latent, and once activated, can be the cause of many diseases, especially malignancies, including Burkitt’s lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and stomach cancer. EBV infection does not necessarily lead to the development of a disease. Clinical treatment is primarily symptomatic, and there is no direct antiviral or virucidal treatment for EBVs. Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent EBV infection, but the recombinant vaccine developed in China is under observation, so there is no specific treatment for EBV infection itself yet. Diseases caused by EBV infection are treated symptomatically according to the condition, in addition to antiviral treatment. For example, EBV infection often causes infectious mononucleosis. Its clinical manifestations are fever, pharyngitis, hepatomegaly, splenomegaly, enlarged lymph nodes, and abnormal liver function. There is a large number of abnormal lymphocytes in the peripheral blood. There is no special treatment for this disease, but mainly symptomatic treatment, with the use of herbs for clearing heat and detoxifying. Burkitt’s lymphoma is a highly malignant B-lymphocytoma, which should be treated mainly with chemotherapy and supplemented with radiotherapy. Most of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is moderately sensitive to radiation therapy, and radiation therapy is the first choice of treatment for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Surgical resection and chemotherapy can also be adjuvant treatment.
