Not all enlarged lymph nodes are cancer

Lee Kai-fu, the 52-year-old chairman and CEO of Innovation Works, who had served as vice president at Apple, Microsoft and Google, and was known as a “youth mentor” and “entrepreneurial mentor,” admitted on Weibo that he had lymphoma and was currently undergoing treatment. In addition to the previous deaths of famous CCTV announcer Luo Jing, young actress Li Yu, and Hong Kong’s famous industrialist Fok Ying Tung are related to this. This makes many netizens can’t help but “check themselves”, causing a lot of panic.
  Cause: related to “stressful”
Malignant lymphoma, also known as “lymphoma”, is a malignant tumor originating from lymphatic tissue and is one of the ten most common malignant tumors in China. Malignant lymphoma mostly occurs in young adults between the ages of 20 and 40. The younger a person is, the more vigorous the lymphocytes are, and the greater the chance of external interference, the greater the risk of cancer.
Under the adverse effects of chronic overconsumption of food additives, it is possible to promote mutations in the growth of lymphocytes, increasing the risk of developing lymphoma. Nowadays, when 97% of human food contains additives and thousands of additives are flooding our lives, a renewed awareness of cancer should be carefully considered as a risk factor for additives.
In addition, foreign studies have shown that people with melancholy and unexposed emotions have 15 times higher risk of cancer than those with cheerful personalities, and all kinds of negative emotions such as tension, anger and suppressed emotions invariably play a role in promoting cancer.
Early stage lymphoma can be cured by radiotherapy-based treatment, but in the middle and late stage, chemotherapy-based treatment is needed. There is no need to be afraid if you are diagnosed with lymphoma, as many clinical trials have confirmed that the key to cure is the success of the first treatment.
  Warning: Fever, wasting and enlargement
Unfortunately, 70% of clinically diagnosed lymphoma patients are in the middle to late stages because it is painless and easily ignored in the early stages! If lymphoma can be detected early, more than half of the patients can be cured; if it reaches advanced stage, the cure rate is only 20-30%.
The symptoms of lymphoma are mainly swollen lymph nodes felt on the body, which are hidden and not easily detected, and many patients confuse symptoms such as fever with cold and flu illnesses. Therefore, there are three common complications to be aware of.
Fever: The body temperature hovers between 38°C and 39°C for a long time, with persistent high fever and intermittent low fever, and a few have periodic fever.
Wasting: Most patients show weight loss, losing more than 10% of their original body weight in a short period of time.
Night sweats: Sweating at night or after falling asleep.
About 60% of lymphomas are first noticed by enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, which start as a single enlargement and slowly increase in number and become more and more enlarged. There is no obvious discomfort in the early stages, so it is often overlooked. The majority of patients find the swollen lymph nodes by chance when they feel them themselves.
Lymph nodes with a diameter of more than 1 cm are only clinically significant
Not all swollen lymph nodes are cancerous, and many of them are normal reactions such as inflammation or benign lesions. In addition, only lumps with a diameter of more than one centimeter have clinical examination significance. Therefore, it is important to be alert when abnormalities are found and seek medical attention in time, but do not be overly nervous.
White-collar workers with stressful jobs, those who stay up late, those who are chronically overworked, and those who are often exposed to electronic radiation or radiation should regularly check themselves and touch the surface of their bodies for enlarged lymph nodes.
Usually, receive more sunlight, live a regular life, stay away from pollutants, and try not to move in after the new house is decorated; after buying a new car, conduct formaldehyde tests and keep the windows open for a longer period of time to ventilate. In addition, eat grapes, tea, kelp, soybeans, carrots, tomatoes, bananas, oranges, spinach and other foods regularly, and receive regular health checkups.
Seven kinds of weapons” to check lymphoma:
  1. Routine blood tests.
2.Blood chemistry test, including urea nitrogen, non-protein nitrogen, creatinine, alkaline phosphatase and other measurements.
3.Serum immunoglobulin test and urine routine test.
  4.Immunohistochemistry examination.
5.Imaging examination: frontal and lateral chest X-ray, CT, magnetic resonance examination, etc. Abdominal ultrasound or CT scan, MRI, etc.
6.Pathological examination: lymph node and skin biopsy, bone spur biopsy, including puncture biopsy of invaded area if necessary. The tumor type and stage will be clarified through pathological diagnosis.
7.PET-CT examination for specific high-risk groups.
