How many years can I live if I have a liver tumour removed?

Liver tumours are divided into benign and malignant tumours. Benign tumours generally require only follow-up monitoring and do not require surgical treatment, and patients who have been surgically removed also usually have a long survival.
Patients with malignant tumours of the liver have different survival periods depending on the tumour tissue and the patient’s body. Research data shows that the 5-year survival rate after resection of hepatocellular carcinoma is 40% to 70%. The 3-year survival rate after surgery for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is 16%-61% and the 5-year survival rate is 24%-44%. The 5-year survival rate after surgical resection of metastatic liver tumours is 25% to 46%.
