What is the cause of bleeding gums with sternal pressure?

In the case of acute leukaemia, the patient may present with skin petechiae, as well as bleeding from the gums or nose. In addition to these symptoms, the patient may also experience sternal pressure due to the proliferation of leukaemia cells in the medullary cavity. Therefore, if bleeding gums or nasal bleeding occurs with sternal pressure pain, the possibility of acute leukaemia should be suspected and a prompt visit to the haematology department should be made.
