What is a sternal pressure test?

When sternal pressure pain is present, a physical examination can be performed to observe the presence of petechiae on the skin, as well as any enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, armpits or groin, and any lumps, petechiae or deformities in the bone area. Based on the initial judgement, the doctor may perform a comprehensive diagnosis such as routine blood tests, thoracentesis and aspiration tests, X-ray, CT and other imaging tests; cytogenetic and molecular biology tests, and bone marrow biopsy.
