Promoting men’s health and building harmonious families

The young man is the future of the family, the middle-aged man is the pillar of the family, and the old man is the beloved elder of the family, male health, the happiness of the whole family. October 28, 2013 is China’s 13th Men’s Health Day, “concern about men’s health, build family harmony”, in this special day, we Let’s talk about men’s health care issues on this special day. The current situation of men’s health Prostate disease, sexual dysfunction, urinary tract infections and infertility are the four most common types of diseases that endanger men’s health. Prostate diseases mainly include prostatitis, prostate enlargement and prostate cancer. The symptoms of prostatitis are frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination and painful discomfort in the lower abdomen and perineum. This disease mostly occurs in young and strong men and although the incidence is high, the rate of misdiagnosis and mistreatment is also high. Although its understanding is still imperfect and varies widely, symptoms can be improved through lifestyle modification and effective treatment to enhance patients’ quality of life. Most patients with prostate enlargement can improve their symptoms with oral medication, some patients need minimally invasive surgical treatment, and few patients need traditional surgery at this time. Prostatitis and prostate enlargement are very common. Many patients may be told they have prostatitis or prostate enlargement during a health checkup, while the patient himself has no symptoms. It is worth pointing out that not all patients need treatment, and if there are no symptoms or the symptoms do not affect their lives, they can wait and observe first. The incidence of prostate cancer has increased in recent years due to the insidious onset of the disease and the absence of any symptoms in the early stages, once the symptoms appear, it is often in the middle and late stages, endangering the lives of patients. Blood tests for prostate cancer specific antigen (PSA, normal value 4-10ng/ml) can detect prostate cancer at an early stage and provide a chance to cure it, so middle-aged and older men need to undergo regular screening for this disease. Male sexual dysfunction seriously affects the quality of life of patients and their partners, while various factors such as traditional perception and social opinion can bring great psychological pressure to patients, causing a vicious circle. Male erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation are the most common male sexual dysfunction diseases, both of which currently have effective treatment methods. Oral phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5) inhibitors are presumed by authoritative academic institutions to be the first-line treatment. The etiology of urinary tract infections is complex and can be caused by direct bacterial attack or by sexually transmitted infections. Patients usually present with symptoms such as frequent, urgent, and painful urination, and some patients may also have pus flowing from the urethra and, in severe cases, fever, headache, and other symptoms of systemic toxicity. It is important to emphasize that once you suspect that you have an infectious disease, you must not choose and take drugs without permission, you must go to a regular medical institution, receive the necessary tests to clarify the cause and condition, and use the right drugs under the guidance of a doctor, otherwise it is easy to cause misdiagnosis and misdiagnosis and misuse of antibiotics and drug resistance, bringing difficulties to the follow-up treatment. At the same time, cleanliness and avoidance of impure sexual intercourse can help keep such diseases away. Infertility is the problem of a man and a woman of childbearing age living together for more than a year, having a normal sex life, without using contraception and the woman not having children. Men are facing a serious reproductive health crisis, according to domestic and foreign research reports, since industrialization, the number of male germ cells show a gradual reduction trend, the number of adult male sperm has been reduced by 30%-50% in the last 50 years, and the incidence of deformed sperm, dead sperm is on the rise. Infertility, like other diseases, can first try to improve the quality of sperm through medication to improve the chances of female conception, and if medication is not effective, assisted reproductive technology can also be considered. In the traditional perception, men are often given the nature of “strong and reliable”, which has led to a number of men to develop the habit of “carrying the disease themselves”, because of busy work, work tired, many men do not care about the symptoms of physical discomfort. The first thing you need to do is to hold on until you can’t stand it anymore. There are also many men who are not good at health care and wellness in their daily lives, have an unhealthy lifestyle, and do not pay attention to medical checkups. In addition, because male diseases are often more private, the public has some misconceptions, making it easy for patients to take male diseases as a manifestation of impurity, many people are ashamed to talk about it after the disease. There are reports that more than half of the patients with male diseases have anxiety, depression and other psychological problems, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients, and even makes patients contradict their partners and relatives, destroying family harmony. Not only that, some patients are too shy to go to the hospital to receive formal consultation and treatment, delaying the timing of treatment, and some patients use the prescriptions of charlatans or go to irregular medical institutions, which not only can not cure the disease, but also easy to receive irregular treatment, causing damage to their health. The actual fact is that you can find a lot of people who are not able to get a good deal on a lot of things. Most men don’t care about their health status as much as women do, and men tend to go to the hospital only when they have symptoms, but in fact, starting at the age of 40, men’s physiological functions and mindset start to go downhill, so they must start paying attention to their health at this stage. It is recommended that men over the age of 40 undergo a comprehensive annual health checkup; men over the age of 50 undergo an annual transrectal prostate exam and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test to help screen for prostate cancer; and people with a family history of prostate cancer should undergo an annual screening from the age of 45. In the modern life of fast-paced and stressful work, men should establish a correct concept of men’s health, enhance their awareness of health and safety, insist on annual medical checkups, and seek medical attention in time to promote men’s health and build a harmonious family.
