What are sexually transmitted diseases?

For a long time, when people talk about STDs, they immediately associate them with gonorrhea, syphilis, and other diseases that were rampant before liberation, and associate them with misbehavior and womanizing. In the last decade or two, the term “venereal disease” has been replaced by “sexually transmitted disease,” which has expanded from a limited number of diseases to include at least 50 types of microbial infections. Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infectious diseases that can be transmitted through sexual intercourse, where the pathogenic microorganisms are transmitted to each other through contact with broken skin or bodily fluids. The most important sexually transmitted diseases are gonorrhea, syphilis, condyloma acuminata, AIDS, etc. Other diseases such as cytomegalic infection, hepatitis B virus infection and trichomoniasis are also classified as sexually transmitted diseases, which can be transmitted through sexual intercourse. Therefore, the scope of sexually transmitted diseases is much larger than usually thought, not necessarily related to unhealthy sexual behavior. 1964 China had declared the eradication of sexually transmitted diseases, but in recent years, sexually transmitted diseases in China have emerged and raised again, the number of patients, of which gonorrhea is the most common.
