In clinical work, we meet some young women with syphilis who are always worried whether they can get pregnant normally in the future. Will the pregnancy be transmitted to the baby? When will it be better to get pregnant? First of all, it is possible for a patient with syphilis to become pregnant. If the patient has been treated with regular benzathine penicillin for syphilis before pregnancy and has been evaluated in the hospital without reinfection, she can become pregnant without further treatment. However, there are some cases that require re-treatment for pregnancy: (1) active syphilis infection; (2) untreated or unsure of previous benzathine penicillin de-syphilization; (3) those who have not achieved serological cure as assessed by the doctor; how long between treatments for syphilis can I get pregnant? The interval required varies according to the mother’s condition. Active syphilis requires adequate treatment until clinical symptoms disappear and the condition is stable; if there are no clinical signs and symptoms and the serum titer is not high, pregnancy is possible after treatment. The treatment and subsequent evaluation need to be done in the dermatology department of a regular hospital.
