Can gallstones be cured by Chinese medicine?

Gallbladder stones themselves cannot be cured by the application of Chinese medicine, but if gallbladder stones cause acute cholecystitis, one can also consider the application of traditional Chinese medicine or proprietary Chinese medicine to control the symptoms of inflammation, which can achieve better results. At present, the commonly used Chinese medicines include anti-inflammatory and bile tablets, golden bile tablets and bear bile capsules, which are mainly for cholecystitis and cholangitis caused by damp heat in the liver and gallbladder. However, if high fever, chills, severe abdominal pain or jaundice symptoms appear in calculous cholecystitis, this should not be continued with TCM treatment and should be promptly treated with medication intravenous infusion or surgery. And the applied medication is mainly western medicine, including antibacterial, antispasmodic, hepatoprotective and anti-yellowness drugs, such as ceftriaxone, mebendazole, adenosylmethionine and reduced glutathione. Currently, surgical treatment is considered to be the radical way for gallbladder stones, including laparoscopic cholecystectomy and stone removal with preservation of the gallbladder, but the latter should be used with caution.
