Young liver patients, have you paid attention to your cancer screening?

As we all know, the incidence age of tumors is getting younger and younger, and there are more and more liver cancer patients in their twenties and thirties or even in their teens. Early detection of liver cancer is very important, and whether liver cancer can be detected early directly affects the treatment effect. Early symptoms of liver cancer are usually hidden, and many patients have almost no symptoms in the early stage, but when obvious liver cancer symptoms appear, they are already in the middle and late stage. Therefore, it is very important to do a good job in liver cancer screening, especially for those who are at high risk of liver cancer. So who are the high-risk groups of liver cancer? People with the following characteristics are high-risk groups and should be properly screened for liver cancer: a. Hepatitis B patients (including virus carriers, chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis B cirrhosis patients). Hepatitis B patients have the highest chance of getting liver cancer, accounting for more than 80% of all causes; ii. Those who have been diagnosed with liver cancer in their families; iii. Long-term alcoholics; iv. Hepatitis C; v. Those who consume pickled, smoked or moldy foods for a long time; vi. Non-hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis; vii. Those who work under excessive pressure, have a heavy workload or are mentally depressed for a long time are all high-risk groups for liver cancer. Usually, about 70% of small liver cancers less than 5 cm in diameter have no symptoms, so it is difficult for patients to detect them by themselves. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to cancer prevention medical checkups. For general population, it is recommended to have cancer prevention checkups at least once a year, and for people with high risk of liver cancer, it is recommended to have checkups four times a year in foreign countries, and at least twice a year in China. Ultrasound of liver and AFP test are the most important monitoring methods to screen liver cancer in clinical practice. For about 60% of people with high risk of liver cancer in China, AFP is a very practical test that can make early diagnosis of liver cancer six months to a year before the appearance of liver cancer symptoms. For early stage liver cancer with no symptoms, liver ultrasound and fetoprotein test can screen out most of the “small liver cancers”, and if these patients are detected early, they can be cured. The young trend of liver cancer makes me urge young liver patients to pay attention to your cancer checkups, so that the next one will not happen to you!
