How to treat enuresis

Enuresis, also known as bedwetting, occurs in children and usually resolves spontaneously by the age of 10 or so, with only a few cases of enuresis lasting into adulthood. Treatment for enuresis includes medication, lifestyle changes, behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, and herbal and acupuncture treatments. Treatment of enuresis is directly related to the age of the patient and the cause of enuresis. According to the cause of enuresis, enuresis is divided into primary enuresis and continual enuresis. Primary enuresis is mainly caused by delayed development of the cerebral cortex, deep sleep and psychological factors, which can mostly be cured with the growth of the cerebral cortex, sleep adjustment and psychological guidance, and does not require special treatment. The secondary enuresis is caused by certain diseases, such as urinary tract obstruction, cystitis, and overactive bladder. In addition to bedwetting at night, patients with this condition also have symptoms of frequent urination, urgency, painful urination, and difficulty in urination during the day, and need to clarify the specific cause for targeted treatment. As mentioned above, the treatment of enuresis is directly related to the patient’s age and the cause of the disease. In the case of secondary enuresis, the cause should be clearly identified and targeted treatment should be done.
