How to manage pediatric diarrhea?

  Dietary intervention: advocate exclusive breastfeeding, shorten the feeding time of one breast when breastfeeding, reduce fat intake, because mother’s milk has the difference between foremilk and hind milk, hind milk is rich in fat, baby will easily have more stools after eating. When breastfeeding is not possible, it is recommended to choose: low lactose, prebiotic, partially hydrolyzed protein formula powder.  For acute infectious diarrhea, feeding should be continued and hydrated. If acute diarrhea lasts longer than 5 days, a short application of lactose-free formula is recommended. Highly suspected infectious diarrhea or milk protein allergy diarrhea should be seen by a pediatrician or specialist.  Care with special attention to weight changes, weight loss, possibly due to dehydration caused by diarrhea. Carefully care for the buttocks, wash with water after pooping, wipe with wet tissue, still need to rinse with water, absorb with a soft towel and then smear with moisturizer or buttock cream.
