What causes pain in the groin and thigh?

Pain in the groin area may be caused by femoral head necrosis and can radiate to the ipsilateral hip and knee. As the disease progresses, the patient may also experience stiffness and limited movement of the hip joint, and in severe cases, lower limb claudication.
On examination, the doctor will find deep pressure pain in the inguinal region of the affected side and a positive 4″ test. Diagnosis can be aided by a hip x-ray.”
