Lumbar spine causes thigh pain

Degenerative lesions of the lumbar spine such as lumbar disc herniation can cause radiating pain in the thigh.
Daily life requires bed rest, no strenuous exercise and preferably a hard bed.
Obese patients should control their weight to avoid excessive pressure on the lumbar spine and thigh area, which can cause recurrent pain, and refrain from eating fatty foods.
Low back exercises need to be strengthened and bridging exercises can be done to strengthen the muscles of the low back and help stabilise the lumbar spine.
