Treatment and dietary principles for gout patients

Also known as hyperuricemia, it is a disorder of purine metabolism in the body, with increased synthesis or decreased excretion of uric acid, resulting in hyperuricemia, a metabolic disorder with some genetic predisposition.       Gout is directly related to the liver and kidneys. Shi Hongcheng, Microsurgery Department, Changchun Orthopaedic Hospital Long-term increase of uric acid in the blood is the key cause of gout.     The general clinical stage of gout 1, hyperuricemia phase: also known as pre-gout, in this period the patient may have no clinical symptoms of gout, only the expression of elevated blood uric acid. 2, early gout: this period is developed from hyperuricemia, the prominent symptom is the acute gouty arthritis attack, after the acute arthritis attack disappears, the joints can be completely restored to normal, also does not leave functional damage, but can be recurrent. At this stage, there is usually no formation of subcutaneous gout stones, no obvious nephropathy and formation of gouty nephropathy and kidney stones, and normal kidney function. 3, gout in the middle: this period of gouty arthritis due to repeated acute attacks caused by the injury, so that the joints have different degrees of bone destruction and dysfunction, the formation of chronic gouty arthritis. Subcutaneous gouty stones may appear, there may also be gouty nephropathy and the formation of kidney stones, kidney function may be normal or mildly diminished. 4.Late stage of gout: there are obvious joint deformity and dysfunction, the number of subcutaneous gout stones increases, the volume increases, and the white uric acid precipitates flow out easily, if the wound does not heal after years, only amputation can be performed. Gouty kidney stones develop, kidney function decreases significantly, azotemia and uremia appear, and serious cases rely on kidney replacement to maintain life. Gout most often causes three high diseases: high blood lipid, high blood sugar and high blood pressure. Therefore, the most dangerous part of the disease is the multiple metabolic diseases that accompany gout. Treatment control steps: it should be understood that the human uric acid mainly comes from two sources: 1, exogenous – the role of food and absorption 2, endogenous – intracellular protein decomposition. Either to control the intake and inhibit the generation, or to increase excretion and less absorption, in addition to this there is no other way.       Gout general diet: 1, drink more water. Ensure that 3000 ml per day, drink a small number of times to help uric acid discharge. 2, prohibit alcohol, alcohol is easy to make the body lactic acid accumulation, inhibit uric acid discharge. 3, try not to eat seafood, animal offal, eat more alkaline food. 4, eat less salt, should be limited to 2-5 grams per day. 5.Use drugs that inhibit uric acid excretion as little as possible. 6.Pay attention to the treatment of other co-existing diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus’>diabetes, hyperlipidemia and obesity, etc.
