If there is contact bleeding on gynaecological examination but the TCT results are only mildly inflammatory, there is usually not much cause for concern. This usually indicates the presence of inflammation in the cervix and anti-inflammatory treatment is administered as prescribed by the doctor.
Patients can also go back to the hospital after 3 to 6 months of treatment to have a repeat TCT test to see if the inflammation is still present, and the inflammation can be recovered with regular treatment. Patients can also have a biopsy taken through colposcopy for pathological examination for clarification if necessary.
