What are the symptoms of contact bleeding?

Contact bleeding is usually not very heavy, is mostly dark red in colour or may be bright red, and usually stops on its own. If it is caused by inflammation of the cervix, it may be accompanied by discomfort such as cramping in the abdomen and lumbosacral ache. Contact bleeding is mainly associated with cervicitis, cervical polyps, cervical cancer and warts and should be treated promptly.
