It may be because depression has weaker brain activity, slower thinking, poor concentration and lack of excitability in the brain. It is not that the performance of EEG can determine or confirm the diagnosis of depression, EEG can only be used as an auxiliary criterion to identify depression. The diagnosis of depression is still mainly based on clinical symptoms and performance as well as psychological tests. If there are certain manifestations of depression, EEG must be examined to exclude depression caused by a series of organic diseases such as epilepsy and brain trauma.
