Treatment is generally not advocated. For women younger than 30 years of age, this test is also unnecessary because 50%-80% of women before the age of 25 can have one HPV infection as long as they are sexually active, and the vast majority of them can regress naturally and can be observed. Regular annual TCT + high-risk HPV testing is recommended.
