There is no exact number of survival time for liver cancer that has spread to the whole body, however, this usually indicates that liver cancer is an advanced disease and the patient’s survival period is very short, which may be only a few days or less than 2-3 months. Liver cancer is a highly malignant tumor of the digestive system, mainly caused by long-term, chronic hepatitis, such as hepatitis B and C virus infection. In addition, long-term heavy alcohol consumption can cause liver damage, and the disease gradually progresses to hepatitis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The malignancy of liver cancer is very high. Early detection and early treatment such as surgery, intervention and ablation can slow down the progress of the disease. However, the average survival period of liver cancer is relatively short and it is prone to recurrence and distant metastasis. If liver cancer has spread to the whole body, the patient may suffer from multi-organ failure, which further leads to clinical death. Therefore, aggressive symptomatic supportive treatment should be given to relieve patients’ pain and prolong their life span.
