Experts say that headaches are often divided into two types, one is tension headache caused by muscle tension, feeling tightness in the head; the other is vascular headache caused by the expansion of blood vessels in the tissues around the head, more like tapping and pounding on the head. Some headaches are indicative of major diseases, such as tumors and aneurysms. If you have a headache that is unprecedented in severity, is not relieved by medication or other treatments, you wake up with a headache in your sleep, you have a headache with fever, or you have confusion or psychotic symptoms, you need to pay extra attention. If you have headaches more than three or four times a week, or if you are taking analgesics at or near the prescribed daily dose, you should seek medical attention.
