From December 19 to 21, 2013, the 20th National Academic Conference on Urology, sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association Urology Branch, was held at the National Convention Center in Beijing. In this academic conference, Dr. Xiao Hengjun, deputy chief physician, was selected to present three papers as the conference speaker, which is one of the most invited experts to speak at this academic conference. During the presentation, Dr. Xiao Hengjun’s exquisite and detailed explanation and the clear and exquisite video of bursoscopic surgery received unanimous praise from the conference chair and the experts and colleagues present. After the meeting, many representatives requested for information for them to study and carry out this work after returning to the hospital, and several participants said that they would come to our hospital for further training and study at a later date. In the past five years, we have followed up the long-term efficacy of nearly 100 patients with intractable hematospermia treated with vesiculoscopic technique, and the overall efficacy is very satisfactory. Therefore, we consider it a boon for patients with long-standing untreated hematospermia. The three topics invited as conference presentations in this meeting are: (1) “Analysis of the causes of recalcitrant hematospermia and treatment countermeasures”; (2) “Long-term efficacy follow-up of transurethral vesiculoscopic technique for the diagnosis and treatment of recalcitrant hematospermia”; and (3) “Sexual rehabilitation treatment after preserved nerve laparoscopic radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer – single center experience”.
