Difference between gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer

  Although gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers are peptic ulcers, they still have certain differences, which are mainly manifested in the following aspects: 1. age of onset The average age of patients with gastric ulcers is greater than that of duodenal ulcers, and the age of onset of gastric ulcers is 40-50 years old, while the age of onset of duodenal ulcers is 20-30 years old. 2. gender There are more men than women with duodenal ulcers. The onset of gastric ulcers is not significantly related to gender.  3. mental factors The onset of both is related to mental factors, but the onset of duodenal ulcer is more closely related to mental factors; 4. blood type The incidence of duodenal ulcer disease is high in people with “O” blood type, while the onset of gastric ulcer is not related to blood type.  5. Symptoms Duodenal ulcers generally have obvious symptoms such as pain when hungry, nighttime pain, acid reflux, etc., which are relieved after eating, while gastric ulcers are not typical of the above, and secondly, the symptoms of gastric ulcers are generally heavier than those of duodenal ulcers, which are easier to control than those of gastric ulcers; 6. Cancer Gastric ulcers can become cancerous, while duodenal ulcers are not.
