About 30-50% of patients who achieve remission after treatment with CD19-CAR-T therapy have a relapse, and most relapses occur within 1 year of receiving treatment.
This phenomenon is not “unique” to CAR-T therapies targeting CD19. This phenomenon is not unique to CAR-T therapies targeting CD19, but also to CAR-Ts that target other targets, such as CD22.
For patients who have relapsed, there is the option of reintroducing CAR-T cell therapy with a different target, as well as the option of bridging stem cell transplantation. We need to analyze this on a patient-by-patient basis.
