How to intervene for liver cancer?

With the continuous development of medical equipment and medical technology, interventional treatment for liver cancer has become the main treatment for liver cancer, and even in some famous hospitals in China and abroad, interventional treatment for liver cancer has become a routine treatment. Interventional treatment for liver cancer has the advantages of good treatment effect, small incision, fast recovery and simple postoperative care. Interventional treatment for liver cancer is to directly infuse anti-liver cancer drugs into the blood vessels of intrahepatic tumors through hepatic artery cannulation, so that the drugs reach the cancerous area in the first step when they enter the body. The advantages of this method are high concentration of drugs in the cancerous area, good efficacy and low impact on the whole body. In addition, the use of embolic substances through catheters can embolize the tumor arteries supplying the liver cancer, cutting off the source of nutrition for the cancer and “starving” the tumor to death. The combination of these two methods, and the mixture of anti-cancer drugs and embolic agents, can be injected into the intrahepatic cancer vessels through the catheter, which can block the source of blood supply to the tumor and make the anti-cancer drugs work in the tumor area in high concentration, and the drugs stay in the tumor for a longer time. Nowadays, transhepatic arterial cannulation has become a routine method for the treatment of liver cancer.
