Minimally invasive surgery for thyroid nodules generally refers to radiofrequency ablation. The main target of treatment is benign nodules, which are treated with special equipment under ultrasound guidance and are less invasive and safer. Minimally invasive treatment of thyroid nodules involves removal of the nodules through laparoscopy, and can also remove relatively small benign nodules through radiofrequency ablation, for example. However, for malignant thyroid nodules, surgery is recommended. There is a conventional approach as well as a cosmetic approach, such as through an axillary or areolar incision, to avoid scarring of the neck.
