Why do I need to be retested after standard treatment for syphilis?

After regular treatment of syphilis patients, doctors will tell patients that they must have regular follow-ups and hematology tests. Some patients think that this is too much trouble and that after treatment, why do so many tests? In fact, the disappearance of clinical symptoms after treatment does not mean that syphilis has been cured. This is because even without treatment, the rash of syphilis can subside on its own. After standard treatment, most patients will be cured, but there will be untreated or recurrent cases. Failure to cure may lead to latent syphilis, late syphilis and, in the case of pregnant women, affect the fetus, so it should not be taken lightly. The serological examination and, if necessary, the cerebrospinal fluid examination should be carried out regularly for 2-3 years after treatment in order to make a comprehensive analysis to determine whether the disease is cured or not, especially the change in the titer of the serological examination is of great significance in determining the effect of treatment. If you are planning to get pregnant, you should pay more attention to it and get pregnant only when you are sure that you are cured and that you will not infect the fetus. For pregnant women, they should be checked more regularly to minimize the impact on the fetus. Of course, the conditions for making a non-cure determination are strict, and some patients even require complex tests. It is true that there are cases of over-treatment for failure to heal. If a patient is not cured after regular treatment, he or she can still receive new treatment.
