Mai Men Dong Tang is composed of ginseng, half-summer, maitake, round-grained rice, jujube and licorice, which has the effect of clearing and nourishing the lungs and stomach, lowering the rebelliousness and lowering the qi, and is used for treating coughing and wheezing caused by deficiency of the yin in the lungs and stomach, unpleasant coughing and sputum, vomiting, eructation (hiccups), poor appetite and dryness of the mouth and pharynx. However, it should be used with caution for those who are allergic to the drug and those with yang deficiency.
