The occurrence of fragility fractures and/or low bone mineral density is a universal indicator for the diagnosis of osteoporosis. Bone mineral density (BND) is currently the best quantitative indicator for diagnosing osteoporosis, predicting the risk of osteoporotic fracture, detecting the natural course of disease and evaluating the efficacy of drug interventions. Dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) is currently the internationally recognized method of bone mineral density examination, and its measured value is used as the gold standard for the diagnosis of osteoporosis. The high-grade and advanced dual energy X-ray absorptinmetry DEXA, which is imported from NOLAND, USA, can determine bone mineral content (BMC) and bone mineral density (BMD), and can make qualitative and quantitative diagnosis of various causes and types of osteoporosis.
