The 2015 NCCN guidelines for central nervous system tumors have just been updated, and the treatment of glioma basically follows the guidelines, which have been significantly revised in the following aspects, as summarized below: 1. + Hao Shuyu, Department of Neurosurgery, Tiantan Hospital, Beijing, China 2. Risk factors for low-grade glioma have been simplified: the new guidelines include only two risk factors: age >40 years or tumor not completely resected (STR). Age ≤70 y is the primary stratification factor for newly diagnosed GBM: Age ≤70 y is the primary stratification factor for newly diagnosed GBM, and the grouping treatment plan is selected according to the KPS score, while for newly diagnosed GBM Age ≤70 y and KPS ≥60, the recommendation of standard local radiotherapy + temozolomide synchronized chemotherapy is added, while the 2014 version only has intensity-modulated fractionated radiotherapy + temozolomide synchronized chemotherapy. Temozolomide synchronized chemotherapy was recommended in the 2014 edition. For Age >70 y or KPS <60, temozolomide alone may be used.
