Thyroid tumors over 10cm are called giant thyroid tumors. Its hazards: 1. compression of trachea and obstruction of breathing; 2. long-term untreated, cancer and metastasis; 3. growth towards the back of the sternum, which increases the difficulty of surgery and even requires open chest to complete; 4. large amount of surgical bleeding; 5. long recovery time after surgery and more complications such as bleeding or exudation. Therefore, tumors of the thyroid gland, even if benign, should be treated by surgery in time.
