Liver and kidney yang deficiency and liver and kidney yin deficiency (deficiency of yin and fluid in the liver and kidney) are TCM types with different etiology, pathogenesis and clinical manifestations. 1. Different etiology and mechanism: Liver and kidney yang deficiency refers to the deficiency of kidney yang and the loss of warmth of the organism, the cause of which is mostly due to the deficiency of yang in the body, or the deficiency of the kidney in old age, the injury of yang in prolonged illnesses, or the overwork of the house. Liver and kidney yin deficiency refers to the deficiency of yin and fluid in the liver and kidney organs, and the cause is mostly due to prolonged illness, or emotional and internal injuries, or indolence in the room, or warm disease for a long time. 2. Clinical manifestations are different: yang deficiency of the liver and kidney clinically to waist and knee cold, libido, impotence, spermatorrhea, premature ejaculation, women’s uterine cold infertility, leukorrhea is thin and abundant, or urinary frequency, long, nocturia, and so on as the main performance. Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney is mainly manifested by lumbar pain (pain in the area of the ribs), dryness of the eyes, dizziness, tinnitus, spermatorrhea, insomnia and dreaming, dry mouth and pharynx, five heart-heat (heat in the hearts of the hands and feet, and self-consciousness of the heart and chest), or low heat and zygomatic redness (reddish cheeks and zygomatic bones), spermatorrhea of the man, and scanty menstrual flow of the woman.
