Which department to register for thyroid nodules

If you have a thyroid nodule, you should register for general surgery or nail and breast surgery. Ultrasound of the thyroid gland can clarify the size of thyroid nodules and the grading of thyroid nodules. Most thyroid nodules are nodular goiter. If the nodule is small and the thyroid classification is less than grade 4, no special treatment is usually needed and the thyroid ultrasound can be reviewed regularly, once every 3-6 months. If the thyroid nodule is large or if the thyroid nodule is graded above grade 4, surgery is required. A large thyroid nodule can produce symptoms of pressure, breath-holding, eating discomfort, and hoarseness. Thyroid nodules with grade IV or higher are considered to have the possibility of thyroid cancer and surgery is recommended.
