Are thyroid nodules related to excess estrogen? There is no clinical evidence that high estrogen levels are necessarily related to the development of thyroid nodules, or that increased estrogen levels in the body do not necessarily mean that thyroid nodules will develop. The exact cause of thyroid nodules as a disease of the thyroid gland is not clear, and there are no drugs that can control the growth of thyroid nodules and make them shrink or disappear. Generally speaking, if the thyroid nodule is enlarged, with a diameter of more than 1.5 centimeters and a feeling of obstruction in swallowing, or if it is more than three centimeters in diameter and causes pressure symptoms, surgery can be considered. If the thyroid cancer is highly suspicious of malignant tumor through ultrasound examination and confirmed malignant tumor through cytocentesis, radical thyroid cancer surgery and lymph node dissection in the neck can be considered.
