Causes of metabolic acidosis in renal failure

The reason for metabolic acidosis in patients with renal failure is mainly the decline in hydrogen secretion ability of renal tubules and acid retention.
Kidney is an important organ to regulate the acid-base balance of the human body, renal failure patients with decreased renal tubular hydrogen secretion function, resulting in decreased hydrogen secretion, resulting in metabolic acidosis; in addition, metabolites such as phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, and other acidic substances due to impaired excretion of the kidney and retention, metabolic acidosis can occur, that is, “uremic acidosis”.
Metabolic acidosis is a common complication of renal failure, if it is mild metabolic acidosis, it can be improved by oral sodium bicarbonate tablets, while severe cases need intravenous sodium bicarbonate, and even need hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and other renal replacement therapies to maintain the acid-base balance in the body.
It is recommended that patients with renal failure should consult regular hospitals in time and standardize the treatment under the guidance of physicians. The above medication should be used in accordance with the doctor’s instructions, and should not be used without authorization, so as not to aggravate the condition.
