What to do if you have a fever after thyroid nodule surgery

If a patient has fever after thyroid nodule surgery, the first thing to consider is whether the incision is infected, check the wound, if the incision is fine and the body temperature is not very high in the first 3 days after surgery, for example, about 37.5℃, maybe it is postoperative absorption of fever, symptomatic treatment, physical cooling, and close observation will be fine. In some patients, such as large thyroid nodules, large thyroid trauma, broken thyroid follicles, thyroxine absorbed into the body through the blood, the basal metabolic rate may be increased, and transient fever may occur, so symptomatic physical cooling is also possible. If there is infection and pus accumulation, it is necessary to open up the incision, drain the pus, clean it and further treat it symptomatically.
