How long can you live with wasting pancreatic cancer?

Patients with pancreatic cancer who develop wasting are estimated to live for about half a year. The overall survival of patients with pancreatic cancer of very high malignancy is about 2 years for surgically resected patients, and about 5 months for those who cannot be surgically resected or have advanced pancreatic cancer. Patients with wasting indicate malnutrition. Malnourished patients will suffer from electrolyte disorders, hyperemesis, low albumin content in the body, and may have ascites and abdominal distension. After a long time, patients may have life-threatening conditions, especially if the pancreatic tumor metastasizes intra-abdominally, patients’ survival time may be shorter.
