How long can you live after removal of advanced pancreatic cancer?

After surgical resection of advanced pancreatic cancer, it is estimated to live about 1 year. Overall, most patients with intermediate or early stage pancreatic cancer survive about 2 years after surgery for resectable pancreatic cancer. Many patients with advanced pancreatic cancer cannot be removed, the tumor invades blood vessels or encases the blood vessels more than 180°, and the tumor develops metastasis, such as liver metastasis or intra-abdominal metastasis. If a patient has advanced pancreatic cancer and the tumor is removed, the survival time will be prolonged, mainly depending on the pathological type of the specimen, i.e., the stage. If the tumor is resected at R0, the result may be better. If it is resected at R1, the treatment result may not be so good, which means there is residual tumor after surgery.
