Three days before death in advanced pancreatic cancer

Pancreatic cancer is a highly malignant tumor of the digestive system. Generally, treatment is not effective. There is no chance of surgery for advanced pancreatic cancer, but only palliative chemotherapy and radiotherapy to control the progression of the disease. However, most of the survival period is three months to six months. Three days before the end of life, the patient may have vital organ failure, such as inability to eat, severe jaundice, abdominal pain, and possibly generalized pain. For example, brain metastasis may cause headache, nausea and vomiting; bone metastasis may cause bone pain and pathological fracture; liver metastasis may cause right upper abdominal distension and pain, and ascites. But exactly what other special manifestations there are in the three days before the death, each person’s situation is different. We can only strengthen the companionship, try to alleviate the pain and prolong the survival treatment.
