Does pulsatile tinnitus heal on its own?

It does not always heal on its own, depending on the circumstances. If the pulsatile tinnitus is caused by partial blockage of the arteries in the temporal or ear region due to strenuous exercise or emotional stress, or if the head is placed on its side on a pillow during sleep, it can be relieved and cured spontaneously by rest, emotional regulation and avoiding compression of the arteries. However, if the tinnitus is caused by head and neck vasculopathy or myoclonus, it is unlikely to heal itself and prompt medical attention is recommended.
