The incidence of carbon monoxide poisoning is still very high in China, most mild to moderate patients can be completely relieved by oxygen therapy, but for severe patients often appear coma, more serious is likely to be in a continuous coma state or even in a vegetative state of survival, and a part of severe patients recover consciousness after treatment, but after a period of time (false overdue) and then appear impaired consciousness, cognitive dysfunction, motor impairment and We call this period as late onset encephalopathy. For severe poisoning and late onset encephalopathy, early detection and active treatment is very important, and because of the lack of specificity of the symptoms, imaging is particularly important. The common MRI findings of encephalopathy are: bilateral, symmetrical fusion lesions in the cortex, basal ganglia, subcortical and paraventricular brain white matter, radiation crown and hemianopia, which often show high signal in T2 and FIAIR images. The patient had severe carbon monoxide poisoning, early coma, psychiatric symptoms, and late combined seizures. 2, Basal ganglia The patient showed dementia, abnormal muscle tone, and movement disorders. MRI of the subcortical and paraventricular white matter: bilateral demyelinating lesions, symptoms: dementia, motor retardation, and other Parkinson’s-like symptoms. 4.
