Do all hepatitis B carriers get liver cancer?

The statement that all hepatitis B carriers will get liver cancer is very wrong. It is true that some patients will progress to fibrosis or cirrhosis if they have been carriers of hepatitis B virus for a long time, and the possibility of cirrhosis progressing to liver cancer does exist. However, the high incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma is closely related to the following factors: 1) it is more common in older patients; 2) it is more common in men than in women; 3) it is more common in patients with high replication of the virus; 4) those with a family history of liver cancer are at higher risk; 5) those who progress to cirrhosis are also at higher risk. Therefore, if hepatitis B carriers can be regularly checked, they can be treated in time to halt the progression to fibrosis and maintain a healthy carrier status. Especially for those who have the above high-risk factors, it is more important to have regular medical checkups to greatly reduce the risk of developing liver cancer.
