How to review after surgery for bone and soft tissue tumors?

Review is one of the most important elements in the treatment process of bone and soft tissue tumors, which is related to the patient’s treatment effect and prognosis. Regular and complete review can clarify the treatment status of tumor, improve the treatment effect and avoid catastrophic consequences such as amputation. Highly malignant bone and soft tissue tumors need to be reviewed every 2-3 months for 3 years after surgery, then every 6 months for 2-3 years, and then annually. The main contents of the review include local X-ray, enhanced CT or MRI, local ultrasound, and lung examination for metastasis. Patients with bone tumor should have a whole-body bone scan every year to determine whether there are multiple bone lesions. Laboratory tests of routine blood and biochemistry should be performed at the same time of each review. It is recommended to have the same examination each time to determine whether the tumor is recurring or not.
