Difference between obstructive hydrocephalus and traffic hydrocephalus

The differences between obstructive hydrocephalus and traffic hydrocephalus are as follows: 1. Formation mechanism: obstructive hydrocephalus mainly has obstructive factors in the cerebrospinal fluid circulation pathway, such as inaccessible conduits, long tumors or inflammatory adhesions in the pathway, resulting in inaccessibility. Traffic hydrocephalus is more likely to occur in the last step of cerebrospinal fluid circulation, i.e., obstruction of cerebrospinal fluid absorption; 2. Clinical manifestations: obstructive hydrocephalus is usually dilated in the lateral ventricular system above the obstruction site, while traffic hydrocephalus is dilated in all ventricular systems. Obstructive hydrocephalus develops faster because the accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid caused by obstruction is more direct, while transport hydrocephalus is usually a partial absorption disorder with slower absorption; 3. Treatment: Obstructive hydrocephalus can be treated by fistula, but transport hydrocephalus usually has no effect by fistula.
