There are many aspects to the cause of headache and photophobia in patients, caused by systemic diseases, such as migraine and trigeminal neuralgia, which are common in clinical practice. When a patient has a severe subarachnoid hemorrhage, it can manifest as a severe headache and photophobia. There are also headaches and photophobia in meningitis, hyperthyroidism disease, and having suffered head trauma. This condition should be clarified with the patient’s medical history as well as the form of headache attacks and clinical examination. If the patient has frequent episodes of headache and photophobia, especially if there is a deviation in looking at the light, consider a functional headache, a migraine attack. This condition is a common symptom in clinical practice and may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting in severe cases.
