How long can a pituitary tumor live?

The survival time of pituitary tumors in the brain must be treated on a case-by-case basis. For each type of pituitary tumor, different clinicopathological findings as well as different overall physical qualities may affect the survival time. In general, they are divided into prolactinotropic pituitary tumors, pro-adrenocorticotropic pituitary tumors, growth hormone pituitary tumors, thyrotropic pituitary tumors, and non-functioning pituitary tumors. Pituitary tumors are benign and do not affect the patient’s life. Very few are aggressive pituitary tumors with a high recurrence rate after surgery, which can affect the patient’s survival. First of all, for benign pituitary tumors, if the surgery goes very well and there are no postoperative complications, it does not have much impact on survival time. Moreover, many tumors can be effectively cured by surgery. Therefore, the nature, staging and treatment of pituitary tumors can affect the survival time of patients with pituitary tumors. For pituitary tumors, early detection and treatment is essential.
